Books of Hadhrat Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad al-Qadiani (as) in Arabic

I was very pleased to hear that many more people from the land and lingua-franca of our Noble Prophet (saw) are responding and are being blessed by Allah by guiding them to the Imam of this Age.

‘nazimtableegh’ requested Arabic books of Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), to give to his arabic-speaking friends who were interested in learning more about him.

 

At the outset, I must mention that the best resource for this is www.islamahmadiyya.net which is the official website of the Jama’ah al-Islamiyya al-Ahmadiyya in Arabic.  Not all of his Arabic books are uploaded as of yet, but some are, as are some of his Qasaa’id (Arabic poetry in praise of Allah, the Prophet (saw), Islam and the sahaabah (ra)).  Additionally, this website contains some very scholarly video lectures on certain fundamental Islamic sciences such as Hadith, Tafsir and Fiqh, by some of the top scholars of al-Jama’ah al-Islamiyya al-Ahmadiyya, including Ustaadh Mustafa Thaabit, Ustaadh Hani Taher, Ustaadh Tamim Abu Daqqah, Ustaadh Muhammad Shareef, and Ustaadh Fathy ‘abd-el Salaam al-Azhari.

 

I have not read much from the Arabic writings of Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), save for excerpts as my arabic is not yet that advanced.

However, I have read excerpts from some of the following books which I think would be useful, and which, are available for free online in pdf format:

الاستفتاءهذا الكتاب رسالة عربية ألحقها سيدنا أحمد عليه السلام بكتابه “حقيقة الوحي” الذي ألَّفه باللغة الأردية، ودلّل فيه على ظاهرة الوحي الإلهي وحقانيته، وبيّن الفرقَ بين وحي الرحمن ووحي الشيطان، وذكر فيه بإسهاب ما أنعم الله عز وجل عليه من إلهام ووحي ورؤى وكشوف. وقد طُبع هذا الكتاب لأول مرة في عام 1325 من الهجرة النبوية الموافق عام 1907م.

My Translation of the above introduction by the publishers:

“This book is in Arabic, and was appended to the book ‘Haqeeqat al-Wahy’ [The truth about revelation] written by Sayyidna Ahmad (as) which he wrote in Urdu.  In it he has elucidated the truth about the concept of divine revelation [i.e., from Allah], and has clarified the distinction between ‘Revelation from Allah the Gracious’ [wahy al-Rahman] from ‘satanic revelation’ [wahy al-shaytaan], and has mentioned with ‘ishaab’ [elucidation] that which Allah the Majestic has bestowed upon him by way of prophecy, revelation, visions and unveilings.  This book was first published in the year 1325 from the Prophetic Hijrah, corresponding to the year 1907.”

 2.       Sirr-al-Khilaafah  - The Secret of Khilafat:  Found athttp://www.islamahmadiyya.net/books2.asp?book_key=31&magazine=0&book_name=سر الخلافة

Translation of the Publisher’s introduction:

Hadhrat Masih al-Ma’ud (as) [the Promised Messiah] wrote this book as a rebuttal to the Shi’ah in defence of the Sahaabah [companions] of the Messenger, Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and through it has defended Islam by proving, through forceful and undeniable proofs, that Abu Bakr al-Siddique is one with whom Allah is well pleased, he is one on who is the absolute and complete manifestation of the aayat al-Istikhlaaf [the verse regarding the establishment of Khilafat].

And he has discussed his status and his great services for Islam and the early people and the companions and the servants of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, during his life and at his demise.  Similarly, he has defended ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be well pleased with him, and established his status and his great services…and in this way he has defended ‘Ali, may Allah be well pleased with him, and clarified that the Shi’ah have committed transgressions against him with that which they allege about him with regards to his status and his grandeur… as his holiness has defended Uthmaan…may Allah be well pleased with him…and has established that the Qur’an has borne witness in favour of them so much so that Allah, the High, has used the word ‘taqwah’ in their favour, and that they were amongst the best of the righteous worshippers  of Allah.

Further, in the first part of this book Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) introduces the reasons for writing the book and certain praises, and two appendices of the book and three Qasaa’id from the Qasaa’id written by Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as).

The author then turns to the issue of Khilafat, its misconceptions, and details its realities and provides proofs for his assertions.

In the second part of the book the author elucidates the topic of the Mahdi and the reality of his advent, in light of the circumstances that lead to his arrival due to the mischief and ills that spread amongst the Ummah, both due to the acts of some Muslims, as well as externally induced problems.

The author then puts forward the claim that he has been sent as the Imam and the Mahdi of this age for the reform of the Muslim Ummah in this age, and the Promised Messiah, who came to counter the mischief planned against Islam, that was caused by external Christian forces.

 3.       Noorul-Haq – The light of truth, found at: http://www.islamahmadiyya.net/books2.asp?book_key=32&magazine=0&book_name=نور الحق Summary of the introduction to the book:

Sayyidna Masih al-Mau’ud, upon him be peace, wrote this book in eloquent and exceptional Arabic through the specific power of the Divine Hand, and was published in 1894.

This book was written by reason of the onslaught of the Christian missionaries against Islam, and especially of a murtad (apostate from Islam) who became a Christian and then wrote many pamphlets attacking Islam and the Prophet (saw).

Sayyidna Masih al-Maw’ud (as) wrote about the situation of those who apostatized and what the Islamic injunctions are regarding such people.

Sayyidna Masih al-Maw’ud (as) beseeched Allah (swt) to declare the situation between the two parties to this debate and challenge,and that He make the truthful and the liar manifest to all by way of his miracles, so that the truth and the falsehood should be clearly distinguished.

Summary of the introduction to the book:

Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) wrote this book as a challenge – the challenge was to write an eloquent and profound Tafsir (commentary) of the meanings of Surah al-Fatihah in Arabic like this one – and this challenge remains open unto this day. This was one of the claims that Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) made to attest to his truth – that he had been endowed with divine wisdom and assistance in being able to write a more profound tafsir of the Umm-ul-Kitaab than any other person – and this was one of the proofs of the fact that he was sent by Allah and Allah proved his truth against all his opponents.

Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) also composed four Qasaa’id in Arabic

This book illustrates Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s (as) extraordinary control over the elocution of the Arabic language and that he challenged others to compete with him in both this and in expressing their understandings of the Qur’an – specifically with regards to the Umm ul-Kitaab. 

5.       Al-Tabligh – The Message, found at: http://www.islamahmadiyya.net/books2.asp?book_key=19&magazine=0&book_name=التبليغ 

Along with what ‘Islamislove’ has written above, this book was written especially for the Shuyukh of Syria, Egypt and India in Arabic, who have an in-depth knowledge of Islam and its subtle realities and thus the level of Arabic and exposition of concepts in the book are of a very high and detailed level.  In it he details his claim specifically tailored to the understanding of Muslim scholars in the intellectual centres of the Islamic world at the time.

 

Therefore, this book should be given only to such people as explained above.

 

I have only read excerpts of it due to its complexity and my deficiencies in the Arabic language.

6.       Hamaamat al-Bushra – Birds of Glad Tidings, found at: http://www.islamahmadiyya.net/books2.asp?book_key=36&magazine=0&book_name=حمامة البشرى 

This book was written by Sayyidna Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) as a response to a letter which was written to him by Sayyid Muhammad bin Ahmad al-Makki after he had stayed for some time in Qadian.In it he writes of the things which have affected the Muslim Ummah including, the appearance of the Dajjal, the death of Sayyidna ‘Isa (as), and the concept of the descent of the Promised Messiah in the Muslim Ummah.  He further rebuts the allegations made against him and of the scholars who have rejected him.  He ends the book with a sublime Qasidah on the topic of the those who create disorder in these times and the need for a man guided to a path of the Gracious Lord, and praise of the Leader of the Prophets, and the pride of humanity and all that has been created, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. I have not read any part of this book.
